Hi, I have had my tank a few months and all seems well. However, I haven't looked into any real plants yet. I wanted to keep things simple and got a couple of moss balls. (LFS gave them to me as he said he was going to throw them out for fresh stock) Anyway, will my cherry shrimp and japonica shrimp like them? The other fish I have are neon tetra, guppies and otoclinus.

Yeah, they'll do no harm, and shrimp love them. You can even rip it into a flat carpet, lay it on your gravel/sand and it will slowly attach itself and carpet your tank. There's ton of plants out there that don't require much or any care, plus the fish will appreciate it for cover, and it also helps keep the water clean. Plants like anubias, java fern, java moss, crypts, amazon swords, water wisteria, dwarf sag, and hair grass are for the most part easy to care for.

Don't forget Vallisneria is incredibly easy and also fast growing. The Oto's will love clinging to them if you get a thick leaved type.
