are moss balls safe with shrimp and are they quite hardy :)

thanks M4R13Y

Shrimp love moss balls and shrimp are abit ify, There not really that hardy.

They are fine with them, I was looking at micro moss balls on ebay last night, loaded with pictures of a wine/martini glass with like 4 baby moss balls and a single shrimp

Moss balls are very hardy. If you mean the marimo moss balls, they like to be in darker places. I have them but they keep rolling where I don't want them, not suitable for every tank.
As for shrimp, it depends on which type. My cherries are fairly hardy. I don't do anything special to the tank.

Are moss balls hardy and will they move with my tanks current (if it has one)
:)

Yes, they'll pick their own spot. Normally it's the dead areas in the tank with little flow. They'll just stay there and collect muck :). I've got mine stuck between rocks on purpose so they don't annoy me flying around

If you do go for moss balls (I've got five, and they're great), get some off eBay as they are so, so much cheaper. I got five small ones on eBay for less than the price of one medium one from my LFS. Six months later and they're exactly the same size as the ones at my LFS now.

This is going to sound very very very very silly but can they actually physically move or is it jut the tank current

No, the tank current and movements of your fish move them, but they don't move on their own.

Actually I think my LFS and chain stores have cheaper moss balls, though they're only the giant ones they're around 5$ while on ebay they're 8$. The micro ones are really small! I lost one of mine for about a month and thought it had died until I found it under a lot of sand.

they apparently only grow about 5mm a year, so those ones at the store that are 2 inches or so in diameter like mine are old
