will bettas eat mosquito lavae?, is it safe? can it be caught by just leaving a bucket of water outside?

You live in Australia right?

Well, if you do your not going to be able to catch some in winter!!

Mosquitos prefer stagnant, pungant smelling water.

o ok, so wat about vinegar ells? i can get micro worms, but would rather not cause they go off preety easily if the lid isnt sealed tight on them , but if i have to i will get them, at the moment they are being feed on a fry fomula, and infusoria, and they seem to be goin allright,

would u recomend vinegar ells or micro worm? ive used micro worm in the past, but i dunno if its cleaner than vinegar ell

i have actually never used either. i use bbs. i heard that vinegar eels were devoid of nutrition. im not sure if this is right. i think wayne did an experiment on his website and the fry that only got vinegar eels died. i could be mastaken though. bettas

o k I cannot get bbs cause none of the lfs round here have them, they said its really hard to get a hold of :/, guess i will have to get the microworms then, i will pick some up tommorow if i can, they seem to be eating the stuff im givin them now, because their bellys look look like they are full of food, like when they had the egg yolk, but sooner or latter their gonna need something meatier

lol ironically it's the other way around, BBS is everywhere and microworms must be next to extinct in my lfs :D

Same here... BBS hatcheries going at my LFS, but I've never seen any microworms. If anyone needs a cheap starter culture for microworms they can PM me (US only).
