very nice, really like the fact its patternless other than that spot by the base of its claudal fin.

Thanks, he's very cute.

I gave the fish some frozen food tonight, and of course my oscar got it first but he then spits loads out, so distributes it amongst the tank. This little chap seemed interested, and swum down from his lazing on a plant and looked about, but didn't eat anything. There was a bloodworm fairly close to him for a bit, but he didn't notice, and my keyhole swiped it.

I have some hikari carnivore pellets on order, but am a bit worried he's not eaten anything for a while... any suggestions? try the garlic?

How long has it not eaten for ?

He's not had anything as far as I am aware since at least when I got him, which was Friday last week I think? The trouble with him being around my OH's folks is that I can't keep an eye on them. He may well have had some bits left over from the other fish, though I'm not sure if they graze like that.

The Hikari carnivore pellets I bought turned up today, so may pop over tonight to try and get him to eat some. The difficulty is getting any food past Boris, though waiting until his gob is crammed generally works.

I went through this with my Plec, trouble is he is so stupid he will not see what's near him, but once another fish swipes it he then smells it and starts looking for it.

chopped fish is the best food imo anything from lancefish, whitebait, sandeels, pangasius etc, they love the strong smell plus the high protein levels are great for growth.

pangasius ? Do yuo just chop it up? or do you mean like juvinile ones? I find all of mine like lance fish and massivore pellets. You could also try worms , i feed mine as a treat some garden worms and they love them, the only problem is my oscar likes them too.

chop it up, you can get it really cheap from chinese supermarkets and poly's love it. Plus its freshwater and doesn't have the salt the likes of lancefish has in it. I've been trying to get frozen weater loach from my local chinese supermarket lately as well, i've seen pics of really big cb sens fed only on weather loach in asia.

Cool thanks. I got some prawns for him, but didn't pay attention to the date and they went out of date before I got to give them to him.
Where do you get lancefish from?
I could try and find some worms for him, though think my oscar will eat them first

should be able to get lancefish from most larger lfs, check your local fishing tackle/bait store for frozen fish as they tend too carry a few different varieties.

OK thanks, my OH fishes so I'll ask if we can take a trip to one of his 'favourite' shops...
