I went to get some fish food today  and remembered the LFS still had red eyed swords. So I decided to get a male this time (I got 2 females last week).....then while the guy was bagging it I looked at the other fish. And found a really cool marbled/splotchy female....she is kinda white/pale green with a few black splotches on her  So I got her too  I really need to stop going to the LFS -_-

Anyway the guy that served me has always been really nice, patient with me choosing fish "no, that one, its at the back, no the fron" Well today he was asking me if I had mollies and I said they give me the creeps to which he replied "they're meant to be the tastiest fish to cichlids" and I looked at him and he added "Livebearers were the only fish my large cichlids would eat, they spat out tetras and goldfish"

I bought my fish and promptly left. Its a shame they are the only decent LFS near here.

Mollies give you the creeps? Hehe, I love them. I also go a new fish today. I got myself a female sword for my male. My sister also got two more MOLLIES! *plays creepy music* Hehe. Its all right. Fish that are see-through creep me out a little.

That green splotchy fish you described sounds interesting. Was it a swordtail female? And will you get a pic up??? HMMM?!?!?! :D

I will get a pic/s up as soon as she settles down and the new red-eye male stops trying to impregnate her  So much for me buying him to impregnate my other red eye females :p

I dunno what it is about mollies that creeps me out. I think it is their mouth. Its kinda a bit big :S But I saw some black mollies today at the LFS and they looked kinda cool (you couldn't see their mouths)

^_^ Fish seem to love to have babies... especially livebearers. My swordtails are so cute together. They are always side by side and not more than a tailswish away from one another.

So as long as you cannot see the mouth, then the mollies are ok? Hmm... *paints invisible paint over her mollies' mouths.* There... now you wont be creeped out... though the thought of a molly swimming around with no mouth is odd. heh.

Ohh get some pics when you can :D I saw your red-eyed ones last week. They were

I have to say out of all the livebearers I own/owned swordtails, platies, guppies, regular mollies and balloon mollies that it is the balloon mollies that are the friendliest out of them all. I know people say Balloons remind them of fish with dropsy and that it creeps them out but I've seen dropsy and to me it doesnt remind me of dropsy at all. I'm not sure why their mouths would scare you   They are just a bit bigger than swordies mouths :p Yeah if your going to try mollies I'd say try some black ones first. Ohhh they are so cool. You can actually see their scales kinda like an armadillo. Also their eyes are really cool. Some have all black eyes ehere you cant even see an eyeball really unless you get close (ut-oh another scary thing to add to your list about mollies  ) but then some have big brown eyes. I'd try some lyretail black mollies. I saw some at my lfs months ago and I haven't seen them since. I regret not getting any :/

In my 55 gallon I've got platies, swordies and regular mollies all together. All their colors together are just

I also have a 27 gallon set up with just balloons. I had the regulars in there with them but to me it looked funny all these big long bodies with all these short bodies so I moved them in with the other long bodied fish my platies and swordies. They all get along great :D I should get some pics of my livebearers I haven't done that lately.
