My wild caught kribs have bred twice now in my 20 gallon tank. The female has deposited eggs in the same cave on both occasions. I noticed last night that the female was not spending much time in her cave. She had been guarding it very well since saturday around noon. So I got a flashlight to check out the cave and it is empty. No eggs and no fry. The female was busily checking every plant and open space in my tank apparently looking for food. Is it possible that she got too hungry and ate the eggs? Could the pest snails in my tank be getting to the eggs? Or do they just need more chances to be good parents?

Tank might be too small. Snails in there might not be a good idea, but I am no expert. I have been told that it does take a couple times for the mosha to get the hang of it.

My kribs had successful fry on their third attempt. Give them time.

Kribs dont always get it right the first time. And dont worry, your tank is plenty big. I would think that she ate them, because if the male did, they would be fighting about now. Are they for sure a m/f pair? As sometimes females will lay eggs together and then eat them days later.
