I have asked before, but I cant find the all the replies I got :*) . I would like to add some more fish to the tank. :fun: I have been surgestet a Bristle-nosed Catfish, but as I have live plants..........would that be a problem? What about a Scarlet Plecostomus (L114)? I have also been surgested three coryporyas. Ass a newbie to the world of fish I need and seek guidens. The fish I have and the size of the tank is listed below.
All my readings are fine: pH 6.6 ; NH3/NH4 0 ; NO3 0; NO2 0 ; Temp. 78 F
Thanks

i wouldnt add any more fish, especially plecos, they get big. not brisstlnose though.

the cae's will be big, so thats why i say no more.

I'm not sure whether that's a typo or you just didn't quite catch the whole name - it's a 'corydoras', not coryporyas (people call them cories quite often too :look: ). I just thought I'd mention it so that you know for later :)

Your tank looks pretty full now, I'd say. Although since your readings are fine, I reckon you could put three cories in there, as there aren't really any other fish on the bottom...

P.S The link to the old topic about this is here :D

Is it important with some bottom feeders for the balance of the tank? bunjiweb talkes about a chiniese take away  Obviousley there is something I dont know :dunno:

Thanks for the link rsz

Not quite sure what bunjiweb meant by the chinese takeaway thing... I guess they meant that you'll end up with left over food and stuff on the bottom of your tank. Which a bottom feeder would clean up. (although if you vacuum your gravel then you won't have a problem :) ).

I don't think you need bottom feeders for the balance of the tank, although they do help. The reason I said you could get cories as there aren't any other fish on the bottom is because you can't fill your tank with just fish that swim at the top, or just fish that swim in the middle. You need a balance, or they'll all swim into each other :p

So far you have a decent balance, but you can easily put something in the bottom level of your tank such as a trio of cories. They're very sweet fish

Right................ :kana: I thought it was something like that, but I wasen't sure, so thanks for that.

maybe hes saying take the Chinese algea eaters away? Because soon theyll get big, and mean and they will eat thoser tetras and guppies. Then you should be able to get corries.
