More Eggs!

Yes, the second pair I have been conditioning is now spawning. The Mom is one of the girls I got from Synirr, a few months ago. She is red with some green metallic scales, and she carried dt. (sorry no pic)
My Synirr males were too small, so I used this guy. I think he may Carry dt. If I get any little DT's, I'll know I am right.

I love his face.


He has changed quite a bit, but I hope he stays the way he is right now. This is what he looked like when I got him.

I'll keep everyone updated on these too.

I keep checking on things every few hours. So far everything looks good with both Dad's. (My other 2 seemed to be egg eaters) This guys got so many eggs, it may be ok if he eats some. I can't count them, but I'm guessing well over 300. I may try to take a pic tomorrow, and count them. He is doing a good job of keeping them all in 1 big blob. Now, I really hope for some DT's

His green looks like it may be a copper mix. I hope to see some coppers too. Maybe even orange, if the male carries too. What I hope for most, are DT's, and for many marble babies with lots of white on them.

Most if not all look white. Hopefully that will mean there will be lots of white in them, most will probably marble.

When should I see double tails? I can't see any tail yet. Some do seem to have thicker bodies. Is that a good sign, or wishful thinking?

I had mixed these guys with the ones from my "First F2 Spawn" I had to go away when they were less than a week old. All would have died, so i decided to take them all in the 5 gallon with me. During the trip, and I guess from stress even after I got home, I lost most of the fry. There are 10 left. But I would have lost all, if I had just left them home. I don't know which are which yet, so I have been posting in both threads. They are starting to show color, and I have a feeling that most are from this spawn. I will be able to tel as they grow because these are PLakat, and the others will have long fins. It will be harded with the females though, but it may be easier to tell by the colors. I will put pics up soon, most look like red, or orange Bf's. One of the smaller ones is pure white. He is to small to say for sure, but I think he has red eyes. I may have an Albino. The funniest thing about that is, if he is, and he is plakat, then the mom came from synirr, and her babies do carry Albino genes already. Since she has not had one of these yet herself, It probably is not really an Albino, but the eyes do look like they could be red.

Your male plakat is so cute. I love marbles...but sadly I don't own one (yet)!
