I have 2 more cory fry hatch this morning, there's still 4 more eggs, just waiting patiently

My other 2 cory fry are now 8 days old and do look quite big compared to the wee new ones! :)

Thanks :)

They're cory trilineatus.

Update all 6 eggs have hatched :good: plus the cories have been at it again today and still are, just found 3 more eggs, whether i'll find more before the platies eat them remain to be seen!!

awwww thats brilliant, congratulations :good: How are the fry feeding now? Any more piccies?

Thanks :)

The older 2 must be eating ok has they have grown although still too small to get a pic of in the 4 gal

Here's a pic of the 6 new cory fry,i have left them in a plastic tub attached to the top of the 4 gal tank with an airstone in,i was worried i might suck them up doing waterchanges,i thought if i leave them in their for about a week until they have grown a little at least i will be able to see them like the other 2. :)

Sorry its not a good pic,has they're so tiny!!

Hi Harlequins :)

Oh wow! You are certainly keeping your fish healthy and in the proper conditions for them to keep spawning like that. Good luck with these fry too. I hope you can keep a close eye on the ones who are spawning today. If you can sit and watch them for awhile you might see if they are hiding some of them somewhere. It might be worthwhile to take the platies out of the tank for a few hours as well. :D

Thanks :)

Well the 3 eggs i found yesterday are fertile, again over the airstone,it certainly works for me,these eggs again were found on the 2 moss balls,i did watch them thats how i realised they were spawning, but my very greedy orange platy follows them around and more or less hoovers up the eggs

I might get some more moss balls has they seem intent to spawn on these  although its quite easy to move them to save the eggs, but by the time i wash my hands before putting my hand in the tank the little so and so' has got them!!!

I think i must have 2 females and 1 male,or can they spawn weekly???
so far they have spawned

31/9/09 saved 2 eggs hatched 4/9/09
8/9/09 saved 7 eggs,1 no good,6 hatched 12/9/09
12/0/09 saved 3 eggs awaiting hatching...

Hi Harlequins :)

Yes, corys can spawn weekly, at least for a period of time. I've never has C. trilineatus spawn so I can't tell you for sure. Perhaps someone else will answer that. :D

well here's some pics of cory fry, they still tiny 2 at 12 days and 6 at 4 days old,you can see the bigger ones, its more noticeable from the side :)
Theres now 2 eggs due to hatch, one disappeared whether it bounced out from having the airstone in there ??

Here's all 8 with the 2 eggs ( i caught the 2 older ones to take pic)

This one you can see the older ones(one in the middle and in the r/h corner has you look at it)

I have now put all 8 together in the 4 gal.

Hi Harlequins :)

They are looking good! It's amazing how fast they grow in the beginning. Keep up the good work. :D

Update- all cory fry still doing well and coming out of hiding from under the bit of moss ball i put in there :good:

Unfortunately the 2 eggs didn't hatch,i think they got food etc stuck to them when i had them in the tank with the fry, whether this led to them not hatching?

Anyway corys have been at it again unfortunately the platys beat me too the eggs!!
