okay so im lookin for some wood and i read that bogwood leaches tanins but havent read or seen anything on driftwood or mopani. do they also leach and change water color? thanks

I have Mopani in my tank, i soaked it in water for a week changing the water for daily, it has been in my tank now for 6 weeks and there has been no sign of any leeching. I personally prefer the gnarled look of mopani over bogwood.

okay thanks for the replies i appreciate them..i was thinkin to maybe go with a falsie for now till i decide if i wanna have colored tank water. i really like a nice clear tank. yet i love the look of the wood..thanks

boiling would be a good idea but mine was 21" long n i didn't have anything big enough for it so had to put it in the bath much to the wifes dismay, she does love a bath n had to shower instead for a week, shame eh ! :p
