Moonlight Lighting

i have a via aqua ar620 and have just added a catfish that only seems to come out at night..... does anybody know if a moonlight light will help me see the fish after dark or are they a waste of time? i have contacted an online supplier for the via aqua/ aqua one and they suggested a blue marine tube for my hood..... i have had lots of bad info from stores just trying to sell me stuff and would appreciate some experienced advice on this matter before purchasing a different light set up.

I have read, *dont hold me to it* but Red is not seen by fish.

I added Red led's to my tank which I could turn on at night was wonderfull watching my fish, Can grab some cheap stick on the side of tank ones online or from pets@home
