Moonlight And Algae?

I have just ordered some moonlight LED strips for my tropical tank.

I was hoping to use these at both ends of an 8 - 10 hour photoperiod for an hour or two.
The question that came to mind was .... is this going to promote algae growth due to the longer lighting period?
Do moonlight LED's give off sufficient light for plants/algae to grow??

You need a lot of LEDs to support plant or algae growth, So i wouldnt worry.
