is it a true aquatic plant b/c i like it and think it might work in my tank but not sure if its aquatic b/c iv heard that not true aquatic plants smell and foul up the water

You are right.It isnt a true aquatic plant and will die off eventually.I had some but it just died--didnt foul up the water.Nice while it lasted though.

I liked it too, and did some research after buying some. It's not aquatic. And somewhere I read that "any plant that looks like a household plant, shouldn't go in your aquarium". Well, I dunno about most people, but unless you're a botonist, they're all just 'plants' to me! LOL
