Momma Guppy in Breeding Net

so yeah i was just wondering how long the momma can stay in the breeding net? i think somewhere i heard she can stay in for a day, then if she doesnt have them you should let her out for a day, then go on like that. does that seem right? i dont want to stress her out, but i think shes gunna have them soon. ~dEx

NEVERMIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i put her in the net about an hour ago (which i bought the net today just so i would have it around) , AND SHE IS HAVING THE BABIES NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I SAW ONE BE BORN!!!!!!!!!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOO COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how long should the babies live in the net for?

Hi Poindexter!
Congrats on being a mommy! You can take the mom out when you think she is done giving birth. Make sure you have some small plants (artificial or live) in the net so she can't find the babies to eat them. Good Luck with your new batch!

Take the mother out as soon as she is done

She probably wont eat any of the fry as long as she if feed (she wont eat much during pregnancy)

You can leave the fry in there for a couple of weeks (I assume it is quite big)

technically, you should have them in a seperate tank but many people just keep the fry in the net until they are large enough for the community tank

Welllllllll, the fry are doing great!! Theres around 20 of them, havent gotten an exact count yet tho. Today is their three day birthday, and none of them has died yet and i could swear they have gotten bigger and its only been a few days! They love the fry food i got them and just gobble it up. I'm hoping my other tank is cycled by the time i need to move them, but i think i'll only keep one or two of them, i talked to the lfs guy and he said he'd take them after they grew up. I have a few names picked out too, well other picked them, they are Hatred, Bill, D.Coke, P.Diddy, Edward, Spermy1, and Spermy2. Does anyone know about how long it takes till they show colours/sexes??? i'm so excited!!
