I had two dalmatian Mollys that became very faded looking much more white than when I originally bought them they then both died. If it is some type of disease for whatever reason the group of white mollies I have seems unaffected by it any ideas of what it could be? The tank has been stable for a long time now so I had no idea what caused it.

Do you have pics of them when they started to fade? For it's a bit hard to tell from this story what the cause may have been.

I can't see it very clear but from this picture I get the feeling that the scales are also a bit open which could be dropsy.
Faded colors in a living fish can be caused by stress, but also when we're dealing with a parasite problem or a bacterial infection. But also a lack of oxygen can result in fading colors. A lack of oxygen does not always mean a lack of oxygen in the tank. It can also be a lack of oxygen in the fish itself. In such cases, something internally is blocking the oxygen regulation in the body. Which mostly results in death.
