My molly is swimming on his side struggling, all my other fish are fine,
does that have something to do with his swim bladder?

is he constantly swiming on his side? if not then it may not be it other wise my guess is he does have some problem.....but i have seen a goldfish once which had this problem and pulled through within a week so it may be something else, im sure when wilder gets wind of this thread help will be at hand

try feeding peas, that may help, mollies love their greens anyways

that should help to clear any blockages

How many gallons or litres is the tank.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Is the fish bloated or skinny.
What does it look like when the fish goes to the toilet.
What do you feed the fish.
Any fish been picking on the fish.
Can the fish maintain it balance in the water. Does the tail look like it weighing the fish down in the water.

How many gallons or litres is the tank.

Is the fish bloated or skinny.
-skinny, (normal size)

-Crushed up flake food with freeze dried blood worms
Any fish been picking on the fish.

Can the fish maintain it balance in the water. Does the tail look like it weighing the fish down in the water.
-No he cannot maintain his balance in the water, it does looks like his tail is weighing him down, and he's swimming almost sideways like.

EDIT:
Sorry I was out the whole day,
I just looked in the tank, he's now at the bottom of the tank, sitting sideways, (like when their dead) but he's still trying to swim) :(
What could have caused this? I don't want this to happen to any of my other fish,..

Isn't swim bladder when they get a bit air in their bladder and they loose their balance. I thought a way to prevent it happening was to soak the food so that it wasn't on the surface - I may be wrong though. I did look in to in years ago.

One of my fish had it and it never went away - he lived on his side, swimming and eating for a few years.

Need to improve the fish diet with some frozen foods like daphnia and brime shrimp and green veg.

Can you issolate the sick fish.
Bacterial med and some cooked frozen peas that have been shelled.

Swim bladder is caused by bad water quality, injury, birth defect, internal parasites, bacterial infection of the swim bladder, poor diet of to many dried foods, unstable temp.

I just checked on him he died :(
All my other fish are fine though,
temp is 78 F

EDIT:
I dunno what could have done it,
water is good, I clean it once a week, (never any ammonia or nitrite, sometimes little nitrate (like 10 ppm)
he was always a healthy fish -_-
it did look like something was coming out of him though, (it was probably just poop)
but I didn't get a clear look of it,...

I just took him out, he has this white worm thing hanging out of him,
it was so disgusting, since it was an internal parasite, can the other fish get it? The worm was dead, but are internal parasites contagious?
Or will it only be the fish that had it,..

Fish swimming on there sides can be a sign of internal parasites.

You need to treat the whole tank.
Get you a link to a med.

What;s your location.

R.I.P.

I live in Ontario, Canada
I have this internal parasite medication, (it's food form)
should I use that while my fish can still eat?

Does the medicated food treat camallanous worms.

For camallanous worms levaimsole, or this med. gel tek.

Gel-Tek Ultra Cure PX
Ultra Cure PX is a revolutionary way to treat internal parasites in both freshwater and saltwater fish. With metronidazole and praziquantel, Ultra Cure PX helps control a variety of parasites such as intestinal worms, nematodes, tapeworms, flagellates, fish heartworms, and hexamita. Innovative Gel-Teknology directly treats infected fish and helps prevent secondary infections, which can often occur during periods of infestations. Ultra Cure PX contains fish pheromones to entice and enhance feeding behavior without clouding the aquarium water. Ultra Cure PX is safe for all saltwater and freshwater fish and especially useful with catfish, cichlids, goldfish, and other bottom feeders.

Active Ingredients:
Praziquantel 0.0057%
Flubenol 0.03%
Metronidazole 0.30%

Directions for Use: Hold back all feeding for 1 day before using. Then use Ultra Cure PX as the only product offered to the fish when fed. Add to the aquarium with the dropper tip on the bottle. Hold bottle 2 inches above water surface and squeeze. Offer at least 5 drops per fish twice a day. Repeat every 24 hours for 3 days. For nocturnal fish, add drops when light is off at night.

I just checked, this medicine does treat camallanous worms, (and nematodes, etc)
I hope this'll solve it, cuz the worm was the width of a fishes poop, but it was very long, almost like tapeworms,

Let us know how you get on.
Good Luck.

Thanks Wilder,

UPDATE:
The medicine seems to be working so far, I know it's only been 2 days since I started the meds, but the fish seem more lively already, :good:
