Molly Stallion.......

We have a couple of molly males with six molly females..........three each should be enough.........you'd think...........

..but one of the males just won't leave the females alone........at all........ever......he never stops..........never mind them, it is stressing us just to see him zooming all over the tank........he chases the other male (stamping territory, not for a quickie.. ).

........but he is upsetting the community..........he never stops.......never.....I believe it is putting all the fish on edge.......

We separated him (in a floating breeding/berthing tank.......oh the indignity... ) and the tank has quietened down to a nice pleasant place to live.......

.......any thoughts on what we should do with the "Stud"........ B) )

*sigh* an aggravating problem. my first fishy death was after Toulouse (my black molly) picked a favorite female and never left her alone. She died of exhaustion from trying to get away from him.

don't really have advice..... hope things work out!

Thanks JacopoFishy, that was actually a very helpful answer............It was looking like he could do that sort of thing.........a couple of the Dalmation females are pregnant again and he just didn't stop going after them......

....the interesting thing is, now that he is "separated" they actually peck away at the decorations for algae..........

......whereas, with him there..........anytime their backside was in the air, he would be at it.......

I have a male like that called Lightning. He my one and only male as he beats any other male i put in there up.

With the female he has about 10 to play with so there easy sharable. I have a 5g fry tank thats just emptyed, so is he ever gets on my girls nerves he can go in there for a few days.

First I would invest in a fry tank. About the 10g size. You could keep your male in there from time to time.

Like the posts above mine get a 10gl. put maybe get another kind of fish for him to play with like some tetras or just put males in the tank...
