Hi,
On one of my black mollies ,how to describe, after 3 days after I put him into the 120 lt tank, a whitish and pale film layer, like camouflage on war aircrafts ,developed on the skin. Some parts of the skin is still deep black. There is no white spots on the body.He eats flakes everytime I feed them.He is a mature molly I guess, approximately 4 cm.
Tank population is 6 mollies,2 lebistes and 12 fry.
Water temp=26°C
pH>7.5
kH=12
gH<16
18 teaspoon of salt(mineral)
I have my filter running 24 hrs.

What do you think is that on my molly?

Sorry m8 sounds like it could be 'costia' - protozoan parasite :/

Treated readily with salt - if all species in your tank are salt tolerent.....

...if not then most proprietary parasite treatments will work...

Hi portisheader

Another thing that could be wrong with your molly is that it has, Sporozoa. It is described as, Whitish translucent areas, not caused by slime form on the skin. There is no way of treating this, but as long as the fish is doing fine, it should get over it.

Good Morning,
Unfortunately this morning I found my molly dead on the gravel,so now what to do next to rescue the other,I added 15 teaspoon of salt to the tank and increased my thermostat to 30°C,
should I take any other precautions, antibiotics?
Waiting for your comments...
Thank you all
