Hi again

Can anyone tell me if molly's and platy's breed, or rather mate, I have a male orange molly trying it on with my platy?

Im pretty sure they dont, i think platys will cross breed with swords but not with mollies...

I may be wrong as sometimes i get this the wrong way round lol...

i think its right though lol

Platies can mate with swordtails but not with mollies. Mollies can mate with guppies, but don't that often do it. But livebearer males are oversexed and will try to mate with anything in sight.

Can I ask, as we are on the subject of dirrty lil mollies.

I have 2 balloon dalmation mollies and one has recently become extremely fat! Do you think she may be pregnant, and how do they give birth, and also one more how long does pregancies last for them?

Well I am no expert as quite new to the hobby, but yeah if your molly is getting fat she may be pregnant, my molly gave birth last week and she was very fat, they are livebearers so give birth to live fish rather than eggs, I didn't see mine give birth just spotted 2 babies swimming about, but if you google 'molly's giving birth', lots of video's on you tube which will show you how they give birth, I think gestation period is about 28 days.....!
