I have a male silver molly

3 Females:
orange molly (????female sword tail) since one of her fry is a male with swordtail????
marbled platy
orange platy

I have had my females only since August 2011 (1+year)

in April my BF gave me his silver Molly

Since then (and never before) all 3 of my females have had multiple drops of fry.

One even looks like swordtail. (its a male)

PS. I just added the pair or Sunrise Panda Mollies, pair of Creamsicle Mollies, & pair of Dawn Platies tonight.

Here are pics.

WOW this is actually so neat! I am baffled

I am sorry to say but... your "Female molly and her swordtail fry behind her" is actually a platy... platy are in the same genus as sword tails, not molly. Also in the 1st picture the platy on the left is a male... so you have outbred a sword tale from platy and had molly fry too as the black one is a female and white a male. :) But they are very pretty, home bred fish always turn out much more vibrant colours

Sorry but the bright orange in first picture IS female and pregnant.

Those fry are awesome. All I ever seem to get is black and white fry, coloured fry for me either get eaten before I see them, born with problems or the female gets in trouble and dies half way. Some right bad luck!

Agreed they are awesome fry and I've got some wacky coloured fry photo bucket is screwing up again but here's a pic of some of my fry that are orange but have black specs on them

The only common colour I keep getting is black and these but none are the same which I love and I've got a couple dark grey Dalmatian fry aswell.

If you've got space I would add a few more females bit different colours and you'll soon end up with some different colours

PS. I just added the pair or Sunrise Panda Mollies, pair of Creamsicle Mollies, & pair of Dawn Platies last night.

My tank is 65.gal so plenty of room

I agree you have really beautiful fish :D A nice assortment! I love those half yellow half black lyretails. Wish I could find fish like that here! :)

Ive got loads of space, and plenty of coloured mollies and platys.... But when ever they breed all I get are white or black or a mix of the two. Infact tonight I have a fresh batch of white mollies.... From an orange balloon Molly. You couldn't make it up.
