Hi, I came home today to find one of my mollies stuck to the back of the filter (a small rena filter). I very gently moved the fish & could see it has been quite bruised/looks like bleeding under the surface. Seems to be swimming ok & well in general, but obviously I'm concerned at this happening again & wondered if I shouldf do anything to treat the fish at the moment? I have had fish a couple of years but am fairly new to the hobby.

Thanks :)

If she isn't actually cut I guess the only thing you can do is keep her as stress free as possible, turn off lights if she is stressed. Is there anything you could use to block her or any other fish getting stuck in there again without obstructing the filter working?
Sorry I am not much use.

She could have internal damage so I would keep an eye on her.
Is she swimming ok, maintaining balance well.

Thank you. Must say, the fish dosen't seem to be stressed...is swimming well and balance is good. It isn't using that fin so much, but seems ok.

The trouble is, the mollies and plattys just love the filter. They won't keep away from it. I've tightened it up against the wall of the tank, but I think if it wanted to get that close, it probably still could...

You can add a net over the outlet pipe with an elastic band.
