So I have 12 tiger barbs. 3 molly 4 danios and pleci how big does the fry have to be before u let him in the main tank? its been a 9 days?? Thanks everyone

However long it takes for them to grow big enough to not fit into any of the other fishs' mouths. If they have their own tank and get regular water changes, this is usually 4-8 weeks given the fish you have. If they are in some sort of small contraption inside the main tank, more likely 8-10 weeks.

Ok we'll its 1 sole survivor in a breeding net and I know ppl say if it doesn't fit in the mouth ur good. But waht about other fish picking on it like my babes? They don't mess with thee fish in the tank but be aide of size? I just wonder if the lil guy would be good

I left them in a breeding trap for just under 2 weeks, they was a reasonable size. About the size of my fingernail on my little finger. When they was born they were pretty much transparent, they were solid white and 1 was grey when I added them.

I tried to introduce the fry to the tank twice, first time was a frenzy. I just added them and all the fish went mental chasing them and the fry hid behind the filter so I took them all out.

2nd time I fed the fish about 30-40 mins before I added the fry, I also added some floating plants to the top of the tank so the fry had a safe spot to rest. I added the fish into the plants and the rest of the tank was none the wiser of the new arrivals, they hung out in the plants for about another week and would never leave each other. They come out further and further everyday until 1 of them swam across to the other side of the tank and the rest just followed, they all survived and they still never leave each others side.

When my Platy's had fry, I had some Anachris plants floating in one corner of my tank and they all retreated into that mass of plants and just hung out there til they got big and brave enough to venture out.
