 Today, I just noticed that my 3 month old balloon molly has a little round dent on the lower side of her belly. She's swimming normally and eating fine, but I don't want her to die! I feed her three times a day with crushed flakes.

;) Here's a little history about little Mandy...my favorite balloon molly, Mindy, had a small batch of babies. One by one they passed away until only a single baby was left. Sadly, Mindy died and I promised myself that I would do everything possible to care for her little baby. I named the little fry Mandy and she's currectly living in a 2.5 gallon tank with a filter and heater.

 My test kit ran out, so I cann't test the water. I'm not sure if this little dent in her would harm her, but I want to be positive. Any suggestions?

I doubt that it will do her any harm. If she is swimming and eating normal, than I find it highly unlikely that it will cause trouble. By the way, it is almost always the exact same story with my balloon-bellied mollies... I'm not sure why they die off on me the way they do, but it always seems to be the same story, like I say. So, all this said, I hope Mindy does well--I doubt that you have anything to worry about as far as the dent.

;) Mandy's dent on her side has disappeared and its only last a day or so. I wasn't sure what cause it, but she seems fine now. Thanks for your help! :D

:*) Her mom was named Mindy, so I see how you could have got mixed up. Mandy appears perfectly normal now. That little round dent only lasted a few hours, but I wasn't certain what caused it. I'm gald she's better! :D
