Molly fry colour question??

This might sound like a stupid question but i have a black female ballon molly and a white male but all the fry always turn out black. Will she have white babys as well? I got an orage male a little wile ago and a couple more females but all i get is black fry. I want other colours aswell i was told in the aquarium that they would come out difernt colours but as i only seen to get black i dont know?? Can anyone shed a little light on it for me pleaseeeeeeeeeee.

I believe Black is dominant over white, but don't quote me on that. However, that may be why you are only getting black babies from those 2.

Also, Mollies do not come in orange or red, so you probably got a Swordtail or Platy, which would explain why you are not getting any other colored fry. Mollies cannot breed with Platies or Swordies.

I think your main problem is the dominant genes.

Do i have a rare fish then as i have got an orange male balloon mollie I know he is definatly a molly. as he has been bizzly trying to impregnate the other females, Hes a bit of an odd ball as he has got a black white in him as well he has got a hight fin and all pachy colourd he looks like a bit of a punk rocker. Ill try and get a pic of him.

I was talking more the really dark orange, or red.

Yes thats the one but mine has got a really large top fin that is black he also has black paches all over him and a black tail. with orange and blue flecks. That why i got him as he really stand out in a crowd.

actually i have a orange balloon molly and he does not look lke the one in the picture...he is the coolest lookin balloon molly ive ever seen and he jus had bright orange babies with another female that is half yellow and half orange...ive seen the one in the picture at petco and its ugly as hell my guys serious as hell ima see if i can get a picture

i think their babies will maybe be a different colour what ever color it is what i mean is the babies of the new babies will maybe be another colour
