Both males died today. The marble which had the fin problem was active right up until the end. The dalmation a few times would appear dead (from stress apparently) but would become active again after a short time. I came home to find my silver on the bottom next to the marble and giving him the occasional nudge.

I'm going to continue the 7 days of Melafix, and according to the instructions I shouldn't do a water change until after that. Thankfully the remaining 2 females both appear extremely healthy, active, and alert.

Although I cycled the tank before putting any fish in (fishless cycle), I'm going to treat it now like the beginning of a cycle, which means no new playmates for the females for 2 months.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I'm sorry we couldn't help any more. :/

Well, I did learn a few things in the process. Hopefully I'll be able to avoid this problem in the future.

AAARRRGGGHHHHH

Ok, this was about the last thing I expected... Woke up this morning to find ONE fish in the tank, not two. After 20 minutes of searching, I still haven't found where the dalmation went to.

This is starting to get on my nerves......

On another note, I did finally find a local supplier of Bio-Spira, so will be picking up some of that today. After seeing how well it worked on another board, hopefully should help me a bit as well. It may save my sanity too, as they say to add new fish at the same time.
