Both my two black molly's are discharging quite a lot of faeces, they are stringy and orangey. Is this normal? I have been feeding a few pinches of flakes twice a day.

By the way, its a new set-up with 11 fish (introduced to tank yesterday), one of my guppy's died this afternoon, the rest are fine.

Temperature is 26, with a 125 litre tank, 8 plants and fluval filter.

Any help and advice would be highly appreciated - Thank you

Added to many fish to soon.

Invest in some liquid test kits so you know your water stats.
Don't buy test strip cards there not accurate.
Do some research on the nitrogen cycle.

Don't over feed the fish.
Improve the fish diet with frozen foods and veg.
Frozen daphnia good as it helps the fish digest its food, brime shrimp.
Feed some shelled peas for now.
Once tanks cycled you can feed veg like peas, broc, spinach, cabbage, sproats, lettuce, cucumba.

Cook frozen peas for a few minutes. Let cool down and pop out of shell. Mush into small pieces and add to the tank.
Remove uneaten food after an hour or two in a cycling tank.

Thank you for all your help and advice, are there any test kits that you can recommend?

Api liquid tests kits are good and cheap. Except for the nitrate test kit. It's not that accurate. so I buy the tetra brand instead.
