Hello all I got a gold sailfin molly who I think is pregnant.

She hasn't been eating for two days now, and today she's laying vertical nose down. She's still breathing and gills moving ok, not clamped fins or anything.

She has moved into one of my plants but still laying head first down.

She's been very lethargic the past few days.

Does this ever happen? Is she just going to die. Thanks for any help

Can we take a look at your stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, once a fish start headstanding they are dying and not going to make it , sorry.

Headstanding, laying flat
Water quality problems, drug side effects, swimbladder infection, intestinal obstruction, late stage of infectious diseases

 there is nothing I can do at all to save her then?

Your water quality is good so it's not that.
I've had platys do the same thing headstanding they never make it sorry, they can even headstand in plants, you could ttry a bacterial med on her, but to be honest it's to late.

balls, thanks for the reply mate. i'm a bit gutted.

If i was to use a med which would I use?

She's laying on the gravel now , don't look good.

Could it be she's exhausted from trying to give birth? (even though she's not had the babies yet)

I heard someone suggested squeezing her, but dunno if that would just finish her off :/

Don't know about squeezing her, never noticed my fish headstanding when they were pregnant or giving birth, though never saw them giving birth, don't know your location for a med, but you shouldnt really use meds if they are pregnant.
But if you want to try to save her it's up to you, is she laying to one side on the gravel, whats her breathing like.

The only other thing i can think of is the babies could be resting on the swim bladder, but if she laying on the gravel she dosn't sound right to me.

I think I'll be safe and leave the meds. Thanks mate

She's just laying flat on the gravel at the moment on her belly, heavy breathing it looks like to me :/

If anything else develops i'll post again

appreciate your help mate!

Can you issolate her even if it's a tupperware box at the top of the tank.
