My brother who used to live with me, but has recently moved out left his 15 gal tank with us, until he can afford to get a stand for his new 55 gal tank, so he can just put his fish in there when he is ready to move the fish over. ANYWAYS... Since the tank was in his bedroom, I didn't really get to watch his fish a whole lot, well recently I have been able to get in there and just watch them swim around, and get to know them. He has 3 female Mollies, and 2 Male Mollies, and 2 BEAUTIFUL Male fancy Tail Guppies. In my watching them, I notice that 2 of them, are constantly following 2 of the other fish. The smaller male follows the larger one, and seems to be pecking at him. And what seems to be the dominant female (if that happens with fish) is following another female. The dominant female puffs out her fins, and pecks at the other one. And this is a constant thing. It is ALWAYS going on. Should they be separated? Why do they do that? Why does the fish that is being 'picked on' put up with it?
Any insight into why this happens, and what we can do to give the other fish some relief from it would be greatly appreciated.
