Molly And Platy Mating?

I just added a pair of platies to my tank and the male molly looks as if he is trying to mate with the female platy. Can they have babies? If so will they be ok? I have no idea what to think of this.

dont worry my male mollie was trying to mate with a angle fish i had ,
the female platy wont have his fry though because they are different species,

That is what I thought but since they are so simmilar. He is really working hard at it tho. I think I am going to have to remove him from the tank. He has killed 2 male and 1 femail guppy and I guess a female molly till it was jsut him a female and a large tetra. I got anogther female mollie and she looked pregnant. One day she was just skinny again but no babies then a few days latter she was REALLY fat and couldn't stay straight her tail started floating up so I am guessing he didn't kill her that something else did.
