On the 5th of december my dalmation molly had baby fry but unfortunately they were all eaten by the other fish  as they normally give birth every 28-35 days she should be due soon but she still looks just as skinny as after she had the fry. is there any obvious reason for this?

i dont have mollies, but i have heard that it takes longer for mollies to have babies than any other livebearer

Sometimes it takes longer between each batch of fry. :) My female balloon molly was pregnant for 53 days until she delivered fry.

Is there a male molly in the tank?

yes there is 1 male molly in the tank. When she had the last batch of fry she was pregnant for 3-4 weeks and i bought her when she was very big so she was possibly pregnant for a few weeks before that.

If you are looking at some other fish to breed i would suggest swordtail. I bought a preg swordtail and she laid two days later and she is starting to get bigger again.

I have got a pregnant swordtail, I actually have 3 female and 1 male. The pregnant one should give birth within the next few days

If she lays in the community tank it might encourage the other fish to breed also but i am not 100% sure that it would work for fish. I know that it works for birds.
