Mollies Black & Dalmation

Hi I have four Mollies,

I dont know how to tell which are male or female, and if any are pregnant?

Any one got any info on this?

It's quite simple to sex them, I assure you.

Look at the large belly area. Just behind it, on the bottom of the fish, there is a small fin (the anal fin, for future reference). In females, it is fan-shaped. In males, it is long, slender, and elongated, and serves much the same function as a penis in mammals.

If they are a female, and they have ever been in the presence of a health, mature male Molly...they're pregnant. It's pretty much that easy. You can tell how far along they are by how big their belly gets. When they get close to birthing, they will appear in a front view to be rather squarish, and will become shy and reclusive. They will also have a tendency to hide, and chase off all other fish from their hiding place.

u might want to have a fish expert to come in ur house to see if ur dalmation molly is a male or a female. those guys r tricky. and don't u usually ask for the gender of fish u want?

Shhh! They're not tricky at all. It's extremely simple to sex livebearers.

HI!!! i have 2 mollies

sexing them is easy the anal fin is how you do it! the female has a triangular shaped anal fin and the male has like a sword kinda fin!!

if your mollie is pregnant she will have a gravid spot!! (on some mollies you cannot see this) its the area above the anal fin that will turn blackish (Cause there are lil eyes in there .. so cute) she will be much bigger then she was originally (obviously)


SO how many males and femalesdo you have now??
