Well I called one of my not so lfs today and asked if they would be willing to take my mollies. They said usually they don't pay for fish but would glady take them for free. They said though to bring them in and if they looked good and they thought they could re-sell them that we could probably work something out :D I said I raised most of them myself and they looked nice. I also said money wasn't an issue I just wanted them to go to a place that I knew would care for them properly.

I got there and they looked at them and said they were impressed by them. I said "see I told ya on the phone they were nice" :p Then I spent 1 1/2 hours just walking past all of their tanks 5-6 times over

Since I go there frequently they are begining to know me well so they let me catch all my own fish :) I ended up getting 6 white cloud minnows, 7 cherry barbs, and 2 halfbeaks. All those fish totaled up came to $64 US dollars  The guy helping me walked around each tank writing how much they were and he came back with $48 US dollars (guess he calculated wrong :hey: good for me) and then said that I could pay half of that which would be $24 US for bringing in the mollies :hyper: That's $40 US dollars off.

So everything worked out. I got rid of the mollies I wasn't really interested in anymore and got the fish I wanted for an awesome deal

And to top it off I found a 10 kr coin on the sidewalk( $1.30 US) :D

Wow, sounds like you got a nice deal. When I was breeding cichlids and talked to LFS's about taking them, it was always well we'll be more than happy to put up a flyer for you on our bulletin board..........not one offer to take them off my hands!

Congrats on the great deal and the new fish!

not sure what half beaks are, are the expensive because 48 dollars for minnows and barbs seem a lot. i can get 5 minnows for £4.50 from my lfs and same-ish for barbs

Thanks playfulalliecat :)

maos - Sweden is one of the most expensive countries to live in (if not the most) so things here cost quite a lot. It's hard for me to adapt coming from Michigan but I've just got to learn to live with it. I always find myself saying " but in America that only costs...." I'm trying not to say that much as it gets a bit annoying :p

The white clouds cost 3.30 US each
The halfbeaks cost 8.00 US each
and the cherry barbs cost 4.00 US each

edit: I'm rounding up the figures from the currency converter so I might be off by a few cents or dollars.
