Could anyone please tell me if it's common for mollies and platys to breed. I have a batch of new baby fish but the male platy died over 2 months again. I didn't buy a new one as I already had some baby platys.

Also I have a lively tank with mollies, platys and tetras do you think I would be able to have tiger barbs?

Thanks

No....Tiger Barbs would not be a good idea. Unless you want no tails left on your fish. And if not big enough any fish left at all!

Tiger Barbs are touch and go, but things can go bad quickly. I would skip them and go with a more peaceful Barb like the Cerry Barb. If you like the patterning, you might want to check out Panda Cories. It's not the same, but it gives you a fish with definite patterning.

I would never put tiger barbs with any livebearers.....

And about the breeding thing they will not cross breed, but the platy can store sperm for several months and have many more fry yet!!
