Can I keep a mollies with guppies in the same tank? won't they fight or the mollies will harass the smaller guppies?

We've had mollies and guppies in the same tank for a little while. They seem to get on.

We have 3 male guppies, 1 female black molly and 5 baby black mollies.

The big guppy did "bother" the black molly after she'd given birth, but I think he's just hopeful ;) Nothing to worry about though

First off, Mollies need slightly brackish water. So keep that in mind before you get them. :) The Guppies will be fine in the slightly brackish water, so that's not an issue. There could be some aggression, but just make sure you have the right ratio of females to males for the Mollies, and you should be okay. What size tank?

Why does anyone care about aggression?
Personally I findit quite funny when a male guppy attacks a male mollie and gets destroyed.

Possibly because they actually care about the well-being of their fish?

You bought the fish, you put it in a contained enviroment, give it a good life for goodness sakes.

I've read in a few places that mollies need brackish water. I recently bought a pair of black mollies, roughly a week ago. The female had fry, and except for a zebra danio figuring out how to get in and eating about half of them, they're doing well. The adults are doing well - active, eating, etc. Is this a situation where all mollies always need brackish water, or only if they show signs of distress like finrot, shimmies, etc?
