Over there. WAAY Over there, OK.
He's a black balloon molly, Othello, who had a little clear-ish white spot a few days ago, so i made sure that the next swich waterwould be salted. He's still acting fine. But now his fins are tattered and there's more spots. How do i treat this...i dont want to lose him...I know i need to quaranine, but i dont ave the tank at home right now, just a little betta barrack i used to use...

Edit: I only added 1/8th of a teaspoon so it shouldn't be too shocking for them. Also, he still attempts to eat, but coughs it up. And Dezzi and Rascal are fine.

Since i need to quarantine him...how can i do it in the little betta barrak?

The white clear spot may be the deadly white spot disease. Raise the water temperature slightly to shorten the life-span of the free-swimming tomites. Treat the water with commercial remedy to kill the tomites. The fin tattering might be fin rot. Check and improve water qualtity as necessary. Identify and remove the fin nipper. Feed Vitimen C enriched food. Treat with anti fungal remedy. The symptons for the fin rot are erosion of the edges of the fins, often with some redding suggesting inflammination. May follow fin-nopping by tank mates.Hope this helps.I also have thaT FIN ROT IS COMMON ON ALL BALLON MOLLIES.The white spot may spread to other tank mates rapidly so you may wanna treat that asap.

Okay, raise the temp to 84 (is what i read). Can i treat the whitespot within my normal tank? Idont have another tank w/ a heater and the likes. Just a quart betta bowl that i dont use.

i had a simular problem with my sailfin mollie i treated it with white spot and he seems a lot better, take out the carbon part of the filter before adding the white spot stuff and this should protect your fish as well as to treat your mollie
