So a few days ago I was looking at my fish and I discovered that one of my balloon body mollies looks really fat. Like not just fat mollie fat more like pregnant fat. Though I'm pretty sure all my mollies are female. Can mollies hold fertile eggs to have at a later date or something? (I did just get her not too long ago) Or am I just no good at fish gendering? xD

I'm going to move her to a 5 gallon so the other fish won't eat them if she is indeed carrying. >w<

I love baby fishies. x3

female mollies can carry sperm packets (for many months) from previous matings with males. They can use these sperm packets to fertilise eggs when males aren't around.

Info about sexing mollies can be found here. Go to the bottom of the page and click on the link called "mollies, swords, guppies & platies".

my molly gave birth to 2 fry the other week and one survived and doing well. I only have 2 females in my tank, so she was either pregnant before i got her or like colin was saying, she was storing sperm.
