Mollie Mating

could anyone tell me if this is true, i've been told by a few people but want others peoples advide, do mollies only mate with other mollies the SAME colour or does it not really matter? i've been trying to breed them for a while now but every batch i seem to get die within weeks of me getting them, my ph is above 7.0 all my water values are fine and i do add some salt, at the minute im doing well i bought 4 orange n black speckled ones about 3 weeks ago now all female n all still alive i just want to know if i can put any male in there or if it has to be the same colour

No they will breed with all mollies.
