Aloha everyone,
I'm from one of the smaller Hawaiian islands, and I recently found on one of my favorite beaches a stream with a ton of VERY LARGE Mollie-like fish. Several of the females I collected are nearly 6 inches long, and I didn't even catch the bigger ones!
I am assuming these are wild mollies, because they look mighty similar to my fancy lyretail sailfins, just MUCH larger and plainly colored. (they are mostly a pale gold with silver stripes on the males, and yellow fins... Some of the males have orange-ish dorsals and vent fins...
Can someone point me to a good website to identify wild mollies or limia? I can't find much info on Limia... I am curious if I cam breed them to my domestics to get LARGER domestics... Because they really are huge.
