Hi, I'm new here and was wondering if I can put a pregnant mollie in a1 gallon betta tank until the fry is born and if the fry can say in it for a couple of weeks until big enough to go into my 40 gallon tank?

I would not put her in there. It is very small and will stress her. It is better to leave the pregnant fish in her usual home, and have lots of plants in the tank for the fry to hide in. Even if you don't have live plants, there are plenty of plastic or silk plants that are 'feathery' which would also work.

Many years ago I had several black mollies give birth. I had a 20 gallon tank with lots of plastic plants for them to hide in just like essjay said. Several made it to adulthood. These days I think I would set up a separate tank for the young with plenty of plants and move them once they were born.

Thank you

I like what @Retired Viking said about leaving them in. They will have more broods before long. Leave the Mollies in your big tank and let the fry grow up in there. You will lose a few but you will also keep a few. The ones that make it will be vigorous healthy fish.
