Greetings.

Upon cleaning my fish tank, I came across what appears to be a blueish green mold on the inside of the lid, and on the outside of the top. I do not know if it is algea growth; it has an odd color. Just curious if anyone knows if this is harmful to the fish. I have as of yet not read anything about mold growing in our around fish tanks.

To note, I have eight tanks, and only one (the 120) in the living room has this.

Thanks.

I cleaned my 55 gal today and decided to wash the covers and found a dark green growth on the glass that the lights sight on. I figured it would probably just rinse off but I eneded up having to use a scrubby to get it off. When I hosed it off I couldn't believe the crud that came out of the seams where the glass is attached! Definately some kind of algea.
