mogurnda_aff_clivicola%20_gutjahr.jpg

This is a alpha male and a friend from Italy is breeding some of these and bringing them to the UK soon
If any one is intrested then please let me know

They are Mogurnda eleotrids
grow to 12-15cm
From New Zealand

As far as i am aware there is no such fish as Morgurnda eleotrids and is certainly not listed on fishbase, Eleotrididae is just the family name for sleaper gobies of which the Morgurnda genus is in.

The pictured fish looks very much to be Morgurnda clivicola but identifying Morgurnda species by photographs alone is difficult. http://fishbase.org/Summary/speciesSummary...sname=clivicola

Nice fish though, i was breeding Morgurnda adspersa a few years back but i couldnt even give the off spring away let alone sell any so i packed it in.

I know nothing on these fish but never seen them that's why I'm getting some for my self, and it's a chance to my my friend from Italy who been breeding these fish.I've been trying to find them on google but no luck, and as it sounds your correct. His english is quite good but sure something must of gotten crossed.but I still want these fish as I've never seen them befor other then the blue gills.

looking at the photo deatails it's Mogurnda clivicola

Just gonna edit name in title

Glad i could help, as you say its probably just a mix up in the translation.

You wont regret trying them out, i have kept both Morgunda adspersa which i bred and a single Morgunda mogurnda before them and enjoyed both species greatly. They are easy to breed and the fry are pretty easy to raise as they will eat pretty much anything from the moment they are free swimming, the only trouble the fry gave me is that they were incredibly canibalistic.

As with any goby species dont keep them with anything smaller than half their length otherwise it will disapeer into their diseptively large mouth, they appreciate fairly hard water too so if your water is on the soft side then a little something added to keep the KH up is a good idea.

Thanks, I too have hard water here. and was already told they prefer that.
