Mixing Yer Barbs!

I have a couple of pentazona barbs (similar stipes to the tiger ones, but smaller, less aggressive) that will be going in the new tank, and im sure when mixed into the community would be happier and better of with a few more chums.. now, im having trouble finding a place that keeps these in stock.. one LFS said that i could buy a few other barbs (similar ones) and they would act as part of the school..

How true is this, or are barbs fussy little buggers and need their mates to look the same..?

nope they are trying to sell you things.

Pentazona barbs will do best in schools of their own species, although at a push they will school (loosely) with black ruby barbs or tiger brabs.

oooh.. good point.. went there ages ago, but havent been for a while.. if i remember it well, then it had a good selection of fish...

where are you then?

locally ive been to .. pets a home, badshot lea and pentangle in woking..
