Can you mix purple and red firefish?

I saw Pets at Home with about 5 purple and 5 red all in the same tank.

Wouldn't suggest it. Even having two of the same is asking for trouble.. They are extremely territorial to each other. Two almost always ends up as one.

firefish are usually found in pairs in the wild but will suffice just fine singly in our aquariums. I will add a pair of red firefish to our 75 for my hubby.

I'll look for a pair off of our Live Aquaria's Diver's Den. They have them there from time to time. Otherwise I would go with a single one.

I have two of them on my 75G and they kind split the tank in two but once in a while they will venture in the others teritory. I am not sure if they are male and female because it's only the size that tell them apart.

Great fish by the way. Make sure you have hole in your live rock they like to hide. They fought a bit with my other sand sifter Goby....yeah firefish a part of the Goby familly. They eat all sorts of stuff, small pellets, medium pellets and all sorts frozen food.
