Hey, I have a 10 gallon tank with 2 male platy, a female guppy, 15-20 guppy fry, two ghost shrimp, a single female dwarf platy, and 3 neons (was four). Yesterday I noticed that one of my neons was missing. I don't know where he could've gone, none of the fish are big enough to eat him, the filter intake isn't big enough to suck him up, there's a cover over the tank...anybody have a clue?

Check behind the decor and filter, and other large things in the tank. You'd be amazed the places fish can get themselves. Although the other fish are not big enough to take a chunk out of him/swallow him outright, they may have eaten the body. you sasy you have nine fish, discounting the guppy fry. They could probably finish of a neon corpse in no time.

Hope This Helps.

Look in your filter you will be surprised how they can get in.

if your filter is close to the glass, check behind it, as suggested. ive had fish get stuck behind them before.

I found a danio dead in my filter.
No idea how he could get in there, but he did :dunno:

Negative on the filter guys...I checked my plants and decor...not a clue. I still think it might've been my bro b/c he just got a clown knife the day before, but he swears he didn't. :dunno:

Rodders, that's nothing. I found a Danio who has gone missing six months before in my filter. Alive. She's doing quite well now.

And BigLou, maybe the neon decided to jump? If you can't find him in the tank then he isn't in it; he might be out of it, or have actually been eaten. You never know where a dead fish may go.
