missing fish???

Hi All,

i have lost one of my Celebes Rainbows. it has definatly died as the 6 in my tank never leave each others side and i havent seen more than 5 for 3 days.

the tank is heavily planted and i dont want to pull it all out, lift up driftwood etc to find the corpse. however i do have 2 red clawed crabs in the tank.

the question is will the crabs deal with the body for me or should i uproot my plants and mess up the whole tank to find the rotting body?


please help i dont want to destroy my hard work but also dont want my water quality to be effected.

I would say the crabs and the other fish will dispose of the body; however just keep your eye on the ammonia and nitrite levels over the next week.

I had the same dilema last week. One of my platies completely dissapeared. My tank is well planted but i moved rocks etc to see if i could find it and still havent. There is absoultely no sign of it anywhere.
