Hi....I bought 3 clown loaches nearly 2 weeks ago...2 of them seemed to be fine..the other a little less brave than the other two. :/ ..but for the past few days i hadnt seen them all together...i thought it may have been hiding?...Any way I thought I would have a look for it today as i done a water change etc...and too every thing out of the tank..ie rocks..plants etc....but was know where to be seen....would any of the othe fish in my tank have eaten it? He wasnt very big...about 1,5 inches...but i would have thought if he died i would have found a body?....Can any one help? do you think the Tiger barbs would have eaten it?...thanks in advance...

Check your filter, maybe if ur loaches are small it could of died and got sucked into it, a neon once got sucked into mine, so its best to check otherwise the body can rot and cause give off bad parasites into ur water.

Check around the floor area he might of jumped out of the tank, do you have pets, and have you checked the filter, are you sure he isn't in a ornament, check he hasn't got stuck in one.

Hi...I have checked the filter and nothing...even behind the filter...also all around the tank...in case he had jumped out..but nothing :/ ...i took all the rocks etc out this morning and still couldnt find him...he seems to have just vanished? :S ....feel like its me going mad?...I did deffo buy three of the little dears! :hyper:

Do you have cats or dogs, as sometimes they will eat them if the have jumped out of the tank, look around a wide area of the room, as it's surprising how far they can get.

hmm i dont think any of your fish would do anything to a clown loach but if i were to have a top suspect it would be the kribs and tiger barbs. Does anyone else look at your tank. Since maybe they might have seen a dead fish and taken it out without telling you yet.

I used to have 3 Clown Loaches..... One of them would hide so well that i could go weeks without seeing him, even when i stripped the tank i couldn't see him. Please try not to think the worst just yet..... he could have buried himself in the substrate! If you find eventually that he has 'vanished' well.... all i can say is sorry! -_-

Clowns are great at disapearing.
One of mine used to swim upstream into the outlet tube of my eclipse hood and lay in the chamber with the bio wheel.

Setup some moonlight and drop in an algae disc. That'll coax them outta hiding.

My loaches dissapear for days on end...lil buggers are great at hiding
I'm sure it's ok, hidden in the substrate nice and warm....

Mind you, you may not have animals that may have eaten him, but hold old are your kids????

My mate keeps fish and she went into her living room as she heard her 11 month old baby giggling, bless.... she had her fist firmly clenched clenched, eventually my mate managed to prise her hand open, only to find a quite squished fish!! The baby had obviously found it on the floor and had great joy in playing with it

Hi....thanks for every one who replied.....my hopes have been raised some wot if he could be hiding???....My substrate is stone that is about pea sized...with slightly smaller substrate underneath.....could he really be hiding in that size substrate? :dunno: as for some one else taking out a dead fish....no one dares touch my tank!!! or else they would 'get it!!!!!!' ....think I will just keep an eye out for him and see if he returns?...if not I will just put it down to being 'just one of those things?' :/ ....will let you know if he turns up!
