Mirky Water?

well its been 2 months since my 29 gallon has been running so i decided to change it

nd i got a question my penguin biowheel filter has 2 filter cartridge spots so when i want to change the cartridge should i justput the new cartridge in the 2nd slot and after like a week take out the old one?
Since it already has 2 in it take one out and put a new one in then in about a month you can replace the other one but never replace the bio wheels.

Yes, never rinse the biowheels, even if they look dirty. That is good for the tank and would not be very good if you rinsed them. If you did this, leave them alone.

Sorry quick question, isn't there a time that you might have to replace the biowheels, first time had one of these types of filters.

The only time it will ever need replacing is if it gets damaged.

if your biowheel stops or moves alot slower then nomally

you need to rinse some of the stuff off

or else your bio-whell mit dry up and kill all the bactria

yea in the 2 months ive had the bio wheel ive found that when it stops or slows down its because its really really dirty

When mine slows down it means that my media needs rinsing or changing not the biowheel. I have never cleaned mine. And I clean out the filter and then biowheel is fine. Cunk gets built up under and around where the biowheel fits into the filter.
