I REALLY want an oscar, whats the minimum tank size for one? and what would be the minimum tank size for one with 2 balas? third,, would u have any suggestions for a fish to put in with a single oscar besides balas? and minimum tank sizes for that scenerio:p

Here are a few suggested tank mates from this site: http://www.oscarfishlover.com/content/view/19/33/
A few suitable tankmates
Synodontis Catfish - 7"
Black Lancer Catfish - 8"
Clown Loach - 12"
Tinfoil Barb - 12"
Silver Dollars - 6"
Severum - 12"
Jade Eyed Cichlid - 6"
Chocolate Cichlid - 12"
Pumpkinseed - 5 to 7"
Banded Leporinus - 8"

and it says on this site: http://www.solodvds.com/oscar-fish/oscar_fish.htm
that a large aquarium of at least 70 gallons is required to house a pair of Oscars.

70g for a pair is a bit minimal, for a single oscar you'd need at least a 4ftx18x18 (although not having kept oscars myself I'm not sure whether that's too narrow).
