What would be the minimum necessary to get a successful breeder setup of a demasoni colony?

From what I have read so far, here's my conclusions (please correct as you see fit!):

- 40g breeder tank (36x18) or 55g (48x12)
- AC500 filter (or two AC300)
- 12 x demasoni
- small amount of rocks (as oppose to large amount to reduce territory fights)
- Play sand substrates
- weekly 30% water change
- food : OSI spirulina flakes, Hikari Excel and NLS pelletes

Would this work?

Also a question:

Can I add another species on this tank that will breed? Anything other than Yellow Labs would be nice...

Thanks!

demasoni are extremely territorial. i would put a large amount of rock in there. one of the characteristics of the demasoni is that they do not like to expose their bellies. could be too vulnerable for them. they will use the rockwork to protect their bellies from other tankmates.

i wouldn't keep 4 in no less than a 55.

Thanks for your comments.

The "proposal" above is based on someone who is actually breeding demasoni successfully - except he is going even more extreme. He has about 30 of them in the same tank! (no decorations). Somehow, I'm not comfortable with that setup... Apparently, there's always few females holding at any given moment...
