We've just bought a small-ish hospital tank for our sick zebra danio and any future problematic fish - but were wondering where you can buy small heaters to go inside? The tank is 13 litres (or 3.4 US Gallons) 31cm x 24cm x 18cm - its meant to be a "my first aquarium" for kids lol.

Does anyone know if you can buy a heater that would fit this at a reasonable price?

Thanks

I think I just bought the exact same tank as a hospital for my guppy! Not very impressed by the claim that "This makes an ideal home for goldfish" :shout: !

Rocket aquatics do various small heaters http://www.rocketaquatics.co.uk/ so they might be worth a shot. I've found them very helpful.

If you did get the same tank as me, I found that the filter has a pretty strong flow for such a small tank -- I ended up taking off the little right-angled oojmaflip on the outlet so that the water bubbled straight up rather than creating a whirlpool effect.

Hope this helps!

sounds the same! heres the kit we got:

and here it is set up:

was going to say the filters quite powerful! have removed the right-angled filter bit and seems to be alot better, thanks. its not a bad little kit really and not badly priced at 14.99!

This is the smallest heater this web site has...Hydor Mini Heater.
They are quality heaters i have a Hydor 300 watt submersible in my 55gal, that's been in there for five years or more and works great.

I have this heater in my 5 gal. betta tank. 6" Mini Heater It hardly ever comes on but its in there just in case.
I also have these same brand heaters in my 20 & 29 gal. tanks.

Probably be better off with a normal 25w heater- it will fit fine, and has a thermostat, unlike msot mini heaters.

Tetra has a small heater that's 25w and about 5" long I think. You can't adjust the temperature though, it's set at 78.

I would recommend the Tetra Whisper Heater. It's a small heater, i've used for 1.5 gallon tank, 2 gallon tank and 2.5 gallon tanks. It's preset though for 78F degrees which is really not that bad of a temperature. I have found them to work well and never fail so far.
